Delete Your ChannelSurf Account
This page explains how to request deletion of your ChannelSurf account and the data associated with it. Linking an email account is optional. After a provider profile opens, the app also uses a technical anonymous Supabase identity even if you never link an email; the deletion route for that identity is below.
How to delete your account
In the app, go to Settings → Subscription → Delete account, confirm, and your email-linked account and the data listed below are deleted immediately.
If you can't access the app, send a deletion request from the email address on your account to support@channelsurfplayer.com with the subject line "Delete my account." We process email requests within 7 days and confirm by reply.
If you never linked an email, use Settings → About → Send feedback and state that you want the authenticated anonymous identity deleted. The authenticated request supplies the technical identity needed to locate it. Using the app again after deletion creates a new anonymous identity.
Looking to delete only your synced data and keep your account? See Delete Your Data instead.
Cancel an active subscription separately
Deleting the ChannelSurf account removes our entitlement record, but it does not send a cancellation request to Paddle, Apple, or Google. Before or after deletion, use Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription and the App Store, Google Play, or Paddle customer portal that bills you. Email support can help identify the correct provider. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate operations.
What gets deleted
- Your email address and account record.
- Your account-linked entitlement summary (the detached billing ledger described below is retained without your ChannelSurf user ID).
- Your device-link codes and the paired-device rows tied to your account.
- If no other member remains in a sync group, the group and its synced data — favorites, watchlist, watched/recent activity, recommendation signals/feedback, app settings, and resume positions. If another member remains, shared group data stays available to that member and only your memberships are removed.
What is kept, and for how long
- A one-way hash of your email (not reversible to your address) is retained for seven years to enforce the one-free-trial-per-email limit.
- ChannelSurf's verified billing/audit event records are retained for seven years. Detached processor-subscription ledger rows are retained for seven years after their last update. Paddle, Apple, and Google also retain payment, tax, fraud, invoice, and cancellation records under their own legal obligations. See Paddle's privacy policy and the applicable store privacy terms.
- Bug reports, their optional reply email, and attached diagnostics are support records that survive account deletion. Database copies are automatically deleted after 365 days, and delivered support-mailbox copies follow the same 365-day support procedure. Ask support to delete a report sooner.
- Shared sync-group data remains when another member is still present, as described above.
- Waitlist records are separate from the app account; unsubscribe or ask support to remove them.
Data you store only on your own device — IPTV provider credentials, local favorites/watchlist if sync was never enabled, downloaded EPG data — is not held by us at all and is unaffected by an account-deletion request; you can clear it by uninstalling the app or using Settings on-device.
